Cleaning & Prevention Services in Cypress, TX
By Dr. Shannon Pham
A focus on teeth cleaning & prevention helps you maintain the highest standard of oral health while limiting dental expenditures. A partnership between you and our team pays dividends, protecting your smile now and well into the future. At home, prevention may include brushing and flossing twice a day. But many strategies and oral health aids exist that may fit your situation even better. Often patients are surprised to learn that a particular toothpaste, rinse, or specialized toothpick will serve them best and make all the difference in their efforts. Our team can help customize solutions that enhance your daily efforts, often turning frustration into smiles at the healthy changes that occur. Your diet plays a critical role in oral health as well. Acidic foods and drinks can accelerate the deterioration of your teeth, and certain foods can enhance the health of your supporting jawbone and gums. Our team believes in bringing your efforts and ours into balance for optimum health.

Bi-annual Checkup
It is recommended that individuals visit their practitioner on a regular basis. When you are a dental patient, the dental expert and their qualified staff will conduct a routine investigation of your teeth and gums. This process is essential because it gives them the opportunity to inspect each tooth to ensure that there are no cavities, plaque buildup, gingivitis or any other issues.
Some of the additional procedures that will be conducted include x-rays that will photograph the current state of your teeth, cleanings and the administration of fluoride. X-rays are taken on occasion because the professional needs to make certain that the teeth are co-existing properly within the mouth.
The x-rays also allow the practitioner to make recommendations for additional services that will correct any issues that a dental patient is currently experiencing. A hygienist will take the time to remove plaque that has not been removed from daily brushing. In addition, they may also floss your teeth. The final step to an bi-annual checkup is rinsing with fluoride. This fluid is important in strengthening your enamel and fighting any plaque or tartar buildup.

Additional Dental Procedures
During the bi-annual Checkup, a dental patient may be advised of some additional procedures that should be completed. These processes are important to the integrity of your teeth, as they can prevent cavities and damage. Some of the processes that may be completed at your dentist office include tooth removal, the insertion of an implant that will hold a crown, whitening, dentures and more.

There may also come a point where the practitioner you are working with will refer you to a specialist. This referral is important because your teeth may require additional procedures in order to maintain their health. Some of these procedures can include a root canal, the removal of molars, as well as orthodontia work to correct an over/under-bite that you are currently experiencing.

Dr. Pham and her team is amazing. She is very patient and kind. Her staff provides great customer service and are very welcoming. She is thorough with the examinations and explains what the procedures entail very well. She is gentle and careful with all procedures. I had a deep clean and 2 wisdom teeth extracted. I highly recommend her if you need to go see a dentist but are fearful.

I've avoided going to the dentist for most of my life because of past traumatic experiences, but I had an emergency and found emmy dental. I immediately felt at ease in their office, all staff were welcoming and had a calming presence. Dr. Shannon Pham was so gentle and never made me feel insecure about the state of my teeth. She genuinely cares about her work and it's obvious. I've already recommended Emmy dental to a friend.

My sister comes to place for her check up every 6 months. The staff and the orthodontist have been really professional, very kind, and knowledgeable. They take her serious and they have empathy whenever she complains about something hurting in her mouth. I love this place, I highly recommend.

Dr. Pham is awesome. I get terrible anxiety after getting the numbing shots before getting a filling fixed or a new one. In past experiences with other dentists I’ve even nearly passed out, gotten super dizzy, thrown up, sweating, etc….
Dr Pham was the first dentist to offer me laughing gas, so I tried it, and it worked. I felt calm, I didn’t have a panic attack, my vitals all normalized.
I can’t believe none of the other dentists offered me this even after my complaints. I appreciate Dr. Pham considering my issues instead of just forcing me through a procedure.
